I feel like I've been a little remiss about sharing the wonderful signs of spring and our garden progress. We've had seedlings growing for
awhile and the forsythia blooms have come and gone, so I will no longer delay.
Here's a glimpse of Spring in our little patch of grass.
First, the beautiful flowers, then the vegetable seedlings.
Happy growing fellow farmers and green thumbs!

| These are corn seedlings! I can't wait to roast 'em on the grill! |

Do you know what this one is? Watermelon! We've been able to harvest
one or two a year. |

| A few of the veggies we have planned for the garden this year: Roma tomatoes, Cucumber, Butternut Squash, Lettuce, Carrots, Cauliflower, and, in the back, Cannas, a longtime favorite flower. |

I'm giving the garden thing a try, too. We planted watermelon and a bunch of other things. Hopefully I won't kill them ;)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. My Hyanciths did do well this year. The blooms were real small and scraggly. Yours look perfect. I enjoyed all the photo's.
ReplyDeleteYou have a marvelous beginning for your garden! We try to grow watermelon every year, and some years are better than others. Keep us posted!
ReplyDeleteWow, great garden. The corn will be amazing! I am in love with yellow Forsynthia and would love to be able to grow them as well. Thank you so much for linking up to our Friday Block Party, I hope to still participate in yours as well. Have a great summer and enjoy your time off.

ReplyDeleteI really want to try my hand at planting vegetables and herbs. That azalea is about to be covered in blooms. I can't wait to see your garden in July or August...I can envision a lush, colorful paradise. Something to look forward to!

Thanks for sharing your beautiful yard and garden. I hope to have some nice plants this year. We have had good rains. My Iris grew really big but did not bloom. First year that I have noticed that. I enjoyed yours.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and Happy Mother's Day.

Your garden and flowers are already looking great! We haven't gotten out to really get started on ours yet...I feel so behind. I'm saddened to read about you taking a hiatus, but TOTALLY understand! That is often needed.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your kind words, and feel that you were a friend and great mentor that I made in my short journey so far. I hope you have a wonderful summer, friend :)
